Happy new month / December 2025
I woke up in my grandmother's house and a quick glimpse out of the window convinced me to grab my camera and go to the garden. The colours and the light were just too good to ignore!
I've been on the road since Thursday but this was the first moment I really wanted to capture. There isn't much to see in the garden any more. Only a handful of trees and the vines on the fence. Nothing like the years that my grandfather tended it. But now it is only me, coming twice a year for a few days, just tiding things up and keeping the weeds in a reasonable height.
But still, it was beautiful this morning :)
It is hard to believe that winter is (or at least, should have been) around the corner. Even the trees think so, just starting to drop their leaves and keeping their yellowish, autumn "outfit".
But the pomegranate tree did remind me of a Christmas tree. Decorated with all those red pomegranates that no one harvested on time :)
The reason that I am here is the olives harvest but this year the universe seems to be objecting to our plans. I may write another post about it or I may not. For now let's stick with vivid colours and a vibrant, rejuvenating sunshine!
The last picture is the view from the other side of the house. It's a small part from the most iconic mountain range of Crete.

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 24-105mm f4/L zoom lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic
