The wind whispers, do you listen?
Some images just scream to be in a fantasy novel, and this is one right here. I believe that the ideal fantasy setting is one that is similar enough to be realistic but just a bit... off.
This image sets that tone perfectly. The trees just aren't quite complete, often throwing off branches that I doubt the laws of physics would look upon very kindly.
If I was an author, I would use this setting and fashion it into a thriller fantasy, generating adrenaline by the off balance nature it presents.
Perhaps one day I will create a short story using this image as inspiration?
