What happens to a dream delayed?
Does it dry up
to simply wither and die?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or swell and freeze over-
Like an Arctic lake?
Maybe the weight of
it our mind cannot bear.
Or does it explode?
