Spring snowflakes

Spring Snowflakes are always a nice sign of spring and they are often among the first flowers that start to bloom over here in Austria. For me they are the sign that the days start to get warmer and that spring has started and winter has ended, and after a long winter they are very welcome. Even though they are not the most colorful flowers I like their message telling me spring and warmer days are coming in the near future.

As the weather warms up and the days get longer, I spend more time outdoors, enjoying the beautiful flowers, blooming trees and the longer daylight hours. The birds start to sing and the animals emerge from their winter slumber, so I hope I can take some nice pictures of birds and squirrels as well as other animals in the near future. Now when the birds come back from the south (mostly Africa) I am excited to see some migrant birds that are on the transit and stay here in Austria for a short time.
