Retz - Tiny little Town with flair

Short trips on the weekend are always somthing exciting for me. Now in Autum I like to visit wine regions because of the good food and the fermented grape juice I can get there. Retz is one of these towns and I am always amazed on the beauty of it. It has a very nice main square with a church and I often enjoy some Ice cream there. Then usually I head to the windmill and the wine yards for some hiking an photography.

During autumn there are several wine festivals in Retz and then you can find a lot of people there when usually there are only a few wandering through the streets. Retz is located near the Czech Border and because of the Iron Curtain it was a bit underrated for a long time. Now in the EU and the open borders it is easier to travel back and forth to the Czech Republic and places like these profit a lot from this circumstance. Now in late Summer there are a lot of cycling tourist there that want to enjoy the nice and beautiful landscape with the wineyards.
