Old fortification tower near Linz
This is the ruin of one of the 32 towers that were build in Linz in the early 19th Century to defend Linz against intruders. "Maximilian Joseph von Österreich-Este" built the towers after he couldn't stop Napoleon on his way to Vienna. So that this should not happen again he built several Towers to protect the City of Linz against Intruders. Until today there are still some of these towers preserved and most of them are ruins Like this one. When I have time next summer I want to take some pictures of all the towers that are still left. But until now I only have the Picture of this one.
