Making some firewood for the winter

Yesterday I cut a branch form a tree that was in the way of my view and I cut and splitted the wood in the correct size for some firewood. Since I still don't have any electric or motorized tools I only had the ax and the handsaw. It was a bit exhausting but after I finished I was really proud of myself that I could cut and split that much of firewood in a more or less short time. Now the firewood has some time till winter to dry out so I can actually use it for making fire. I put the wood in my basement where it is stored to dry. So maybe I can use it already for this winter, depending on it's dryness maybe next winter.
