Eurasian siskin
The eurasian siskin is found in forested areas, both coniferous and mixed woodland where it feeds on seeds of all kinds, especially of alder and conifers. Here in Linz I found it at the cementary forrest and it was sitting in a conifer tree and posing for my camera. I am very happy that I could take these pictures of this birds since these are now my best pictures of this species. And I have to admit it is a beautiful bird with it's yellow (golden) feathers. It can be distinguished from other similar finches by the colour of the plumage. The upper parts are greyish green and the under parts grey-streaked white.
The cementary forrest is one of my favorite spots for birdphotography since birds are getting really close to humans and in this situations I can get some really nice closeup pictures of these birds.
