Austrian Mountain Road

Now in summer it can be really hot some days and then I like to enjoy the little cooler weather that I can often find up in the mountains in higher regions. There are several nice mountain roads that lead to the mountains and also allow to get a little bit higher up the mountains for an easier start for hiking trips for example. In the valleys there are usually some really nice and beautiful green grasslands ans a little bit higher up most of the time forests and trees claim the territory.

There are several toll free but also some toll roads here in Austria over the passes of the Alps depending on the hight and difficulty of the teritory. But in some cases you can also save money when not taking a tunnel but the alpine road over the mountains.
