It makes sense until you put two seconds of thought into it.

First of all, most people don't actually have a problem with drag shows in general. I went to a drag show in New Orleans a few years ago and thought it was fun. It was a packed house. Nobody was there to protest.

Still, look up listings for drag shows in your local area. Almost all of them have age limits of 18+ or 21+. They're meant for adults. They're meant for adults because they tend to be sexualized and fetishized performances. That isn't the same thing as Mrs. Doubtfire and Tootsie.

The objection involves kids - either having drag performances held for kids or having children perform in drag shows themselves. The aversion is to seeing a prepubescent boy prancing around on stage in fishnet stockings while grown men throw dollar bills at him.

To imply that anyone who enjoyed any of these films is a hypocrite if we have a problem with the sexualization of children is absurd, and possibly a lie.
