Fascist or socialist?
I guess this is worth pointing out broadly.
If you're a socialist who wants to push Hitler out of the socialist camp, the worst thing that you could have done was create the idea of Democratic Socialism and call it "socialist."
There is a reasonable distinction to be made between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in that, with the Soviets, the government just outright owned everything whereas the Nazis allowed business owners to hold the properties under strict regulations and under the condition that the government told the businesses how they should operate.
That easily puts Hitler's economic views under the umbrella of socialism and it's precisely the fault of the socialists for putting Hitler comfortably under that umbrella.
