Mountain Gear Liquidation Sale: February 13 2020

Yesterday was a bit sad but a bit exciting. I headed to town for the 10 am opening on the first of the last 4 days Mountain Gear is open. They have been liquidating everything in stock and I have spent a small fortune there over the past month. I now have a new rack of cams, tons of new Altra shoes, 2 new pairs of climbing shoes, pack, portaledge and fly, tons of climbing holds, clothes, ice climbing gear, ropes, and a bunch of misc things.

I parked and as I was walking to the waiting line it started moving and everyone entered the store. I should have probably gone to the scuff and ding areas first but I made it to them and managed to find some insane deals. Altra shoes for $30 and $10, Rock Rings for $10, Climbing shoes for $40, North Face pants for $30 and Mtn Hardwear pants for $20 with a nice Mtn Hardwear fleece top for $20. I had to make 2 trips through the store as I couldn’t carry everything on the first round. I put my first load in the car then once I got in line the second time I was behind 30+ people... But it was worth it for the killer deals. I did manage to average about 40% discount on everything.

I am pretty sad that Mountain Gear is closing and Omega Pacific is closing as well. One gear manufacturer and the best gear store are going out of business at the same time.

Of course now both boys and I are sick with something in the chest that has a hard(useless) cough, aches, and chills. We are all doing our best to keep from each other’s throats as all 3 of us are not feeling good and are pretty pissy. I am downing tons of vit-c and colloidal silver and trying to get the boys to intake as much of the same as possible.
