MetaMask updated its privacy policy
The developers of MetaMask the popular Cryptocurrency software that installs as an extension on our web browsers updated their privacy policy, and things are not looking good at all.
ConsenSys is the development company behind MetaMask and Infura, which is the default Ethereum infrastructure provider for that application. As such, Infura runs Blockchain nodes on behalf of wallets and individuals.
ConsenSys reported the data collection in a post about its privacy policy that was updated Wednesday, Nov. 23, The Block first reported. In the post, the company details how and what type of information it may collect from users accessing its Consensys, Infura and Codefi services and websites.
ConsenSys said in its privacy policy that it collects IP addresses and wallet address information from those who access the MetaMask app through the Infura service.
