Spring equinox: always bittersweet
I got married at the spring equinox twenty-three years ago. This was the second year that I remembered it without The Husband, my love and my best friend.
People keep on telling me that things get easier with time. I'm not sure what "things" they're talking about. If it's getting on with day to day things, yes, that is right. But the absence of the person, the companion, the friend, doesn't. It doesn't get easier, It just gets different and it's when the seasons change and when anniversaries come round and smack ... well, you just have to get on with it.
PS This is a nod to The Silver Bloggers Chronicles #13 - more than a week late, but better late than never.
Until next time
