A GAP IS NECESSARY
Happy new month to everyone on this platform. It's been a wonderful time participating in the engagements. Truly it has been a hectic week that I couldn't drop my second entry due to the ongoing youth conference taking place in my local assembly. I happened to be one of the leaders. I had to squeeze out to ensure that I don't end the week without a post on my blog.
When I saw the topic for this edition, I got almost confused but later encouraged myself that no matter what I just have to type something that could add value to an individual out there.
The topic says taking a gap in a year. This is an integral part of human endeavor that shouldn't be taken for granted as far as I am concerned. The significance of taking a gap has a lot of role to play in the life of an individual. The peculiarity of an individual based on their targets, nature of the program and perhaps the kind of circumstances that one goes through.
Some of the apparent importance of gap includes the development of one. You may not completely understand but it helps one to develop skills, experience and expertise that would maximize potential. Personal development is very important because it would make someone outstanding and sort after because potential will be unleashed. Taking a gap will help to scout out for more opportunities. It's commonly said that when preparation meets opportunity, success is inevitable.
A gap is very good because all work without play will make life boring. It's expedient that one takes a break from some work and focus on other things. There are times that one doesn't need to depend just on a particular kind of job or academic performance alone but explore other various opportunities that could give one a quantum shift.
Having a gap is dependent on the individual and the kind of activities that surrounds you. There are some people that through out the year don't even make attempt to go on break or focus on another different thing so that they would build more capacity.
There are many ways that one could have alternative in seeking another opportunity elsewhere aside the major task that one focuses on. I could remember vividly when my daddy was into active ministry, there were times and moments that around the month of August, he would just take a gap from his place of work so that he would have time to actualize other things. During this periods, he normally seeks to do some menial things that would keep him busy and still at the end won't interrupt the basic thing he does.
Gap helps one to recoup and restrategise to confront more challenges and get equipped for better productive things.
To me gap is not a sign of laziness or procrastination but is also strength in disguise. No matter what you do if you don't take a gap will at the end frustrate some other good things that one does. Gap is never a sign of becoming a complainer or less an achiever but if properly considered, it would make one better.
It's good to have gap once in a while.
A break will help one to eliminate lots of distractions.
