Die grüne Eicheneule ist ein Nachtfalter aus der Familie der Eulenfalter (Noctuidae). Sie zählt zu den klassischen Herbsteulen und ist derzeit in der Natur zu beobachten. Mit ihrer auffälligen grünen Musterung, ist sie eine echte Schönheit unter den Herbsteulen. Das Weibchen legt seine Eier bevorzugt an den Blattknospen von Eichen ab, an denen diese überwintern. Im Frühling frisst die Raupe die jungen Blätter, bis sie sich im Juni am Boden verpuppt. Der Falter fliegt dann von Ende August bis Ende Oktober in einer Generation. Dieser Schmetterling ist in Deutschland noch häufig zu finden und in seinem Bestand derzeit nicht gefährdet.

The Merveille du jour is a moth from the family of Noctuidae. It is one of the classic autumn moth and can currently be observed in nature. With its striking green pattern, it is a real beauty among the autumn moths The female prefers to lay her eggs on the leaf buds of oak trees where they spend the winter. In spring, the caterpillar eats the young leaves until it pupates on the ground in June. The butterfly then flies in one generation from the end of August to the end of October. This butterfly can still be found frequently in Germany and its population is currently not endangered.
