Some Lessons In Electrical Grounding

I thought I would share a link to a podcast that goes over details in grounding your electrical systems. The podcast is for amateur radio operators. One of the problems that radio operators have is interference, which can result from noisy electrical circuits. Proper grounding can help reduce much of this interference. Any time there is a current flow in a wire, there is electromagnetic radiation. And, when you transmit from a radio, it can induce a current in a resonant piece of wire.

This is where bonding comes into play. You want all your circuits to share a common ground so that different components do not have voltage differentials in their grounding. Some of the concepts of grounding are good for Facility Managers to know.

Listen for more details.
