I was exhausted going back and forth to Cebu last month. As I said in previous blogs, I returned to our province because we have a hybrid setup that only requires us to go to the office once a month.
But the past month was quite the adventure. We had to go to Cebu to celebrate the anniversary of our company, and I traveled there to get ready for my trip to South Korea. And I traveled to Cebu for the first time last month. And then, after my trip, I chose to arrive in Cebu since we had to come back to the office, which irritated me because I really wanted to go home and tell my family about my experience in Korea. Sadly we were told that we would have to work for 5 days straight to test the tools at the new office but that was canceled so when I received the news that it was canceled I immediately pack my stuff and decided to buy a ticket back home. I was spending time with my family and handing them the souvenir I had purchased in Korea when I received a notice on my phone; it was a message from my supervisor. She informed us that we would be having a training and that everyone would need to be in the office. I was furious since I'd noticed that some teams just did their training via Zoom, but she insisted on everyone being in the office.
Consider my frustration, as well as the money and effort I have to put in just to comply. The airline ticket was very expensive, as I noticed. I rant about it with my partner, and because he doesn't want me to have any problems at work, he suggests that he pay for my hotel and I pay for my flight, and I accept the offer. We select the cheapest flight that is three days away from the date of our training.
My partner was able to find a nice hotel that was also close to many restaurants. I can see other good and bad reviews on the website, and I'm crossing my fingers that the room is nice. I arrived at the hotel late at night from the airport, but the front desk staff was extremely friendly. The hotel's name is Hotel One.
The room is extremely nice and clean. The room has two beds and is quite large. I love the room and the bathroom, which are both very spacious. I forgot most of my toiletries, but luckily they have some on available. They also have water available on each floor, and luckily, the dispenser is close to my room. Also, not all rooms have a water heater for coffee, and you must request one at the front desk, as well as an iron.
They did not offer free breakfast online, but if you want your breakfast delivered, you must pay an additional 250 pesos. That's the least of my concerns because there are always Grab food and Food Panda deliveries available 24/7. The Te Amo Cafe is located on the second floor of this hotel. I occasionally get my breakfast from them and order it from them.
My stay in this hotel was excellent, at least according to my personal experience. I'm not saying that the negative online reviews aren't true, but that was their experience. I had excellent Wi-Fi service, which is very important to me. A lot of places were accessible, which is great, and I can see the beautiful sunrise and sunset from my room.
This hotel is listed on Agoda, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor. You can always look for lower prices that available on these websites.
