Voltage Regulator

A voltage regulator provides a constant de output voltage that is essentially independent
of the input voltage. output foad current and temperature. The voltage regulator is one
nart of a power supply. Its input voltage comes from a filtered output of a rectifier:
derived from an ac voltage or from a battery in the case of portable systems. Low
capacity (500VA) voltage regulators are generally used for domestic purposes, for
television, refrigerator, air-conditioner etc. and also for important equipments like
computers, medical instruments where the sudden changes in voltages can affect the
equipment leading to erroneous results and may get damaged ultimately.
