예를 들어, 명백한 사실을 왜곡하는 방식으로 쓰이거나, 동등하지 않은 양자를 동등한 것으로 다루는 오류를 정당화 할때가 그러하다. 물론 엄밀하게 따지자면 문제는 복잡함 자체에 있는 것이 아니라, 복잡하게 설정하면서 특정 지점들을 은폐해버리는 태도, 근본적인 방향성에 있을때가 많다.
