Every June 7th, Cuba celebrates Librarian's Day. But Lidia, the neighborhood librarian, doesn't need a date. She knows her kingdom is the silence where stories grow.

When the blackout came, the boys burned the books to make a fire. Lidia didn't scream. That night, with a flashlight and a deep voice, she read them The Little Prince amidst the flames. At dawn, the books were ash, but the boys held asteroids in their eyes. She smiled: a librarian doesn't care for paper, she cares for the memory that is born when the pages burn. Her true library burns within, alive.

Lidia no gritó.
