MY ENCOUNTER WITH ROYAL

Unlike many part of the world, cats are not valued that much over here in Nigeria, only very few take then as pet. As a young and growing boy, I had the impression that Felines (generally known as cats) are of the evil one. They are witches and they must not be allowed anywhere near the home. Not every family though believed that as some will keep them around to help get rid of rats. Though I had an ugly mentality about cats but it gradually faded as I grew, I even became friends with one in my former place of work. The only problem here is that I have no pictures of it, I have never being a photogenic person.

I will not speak of myself as a type that love pets, but I have once in while became friend with pets around my neighborhoods. Most of them though are dogs but a cat have also appeared in the picture of my animal friends.

Having gotten older, I absolutely do not consider cats to be witches any longer, I have completely crossed that stage of life. That explains why I was able to become a friend to my first cat friend. I do not even know if it is a "he" or a "she" but it was an amazing creature. My attention was first drawn to it the day I saw our cashier running outside the office like she was being chased by a ghost😄. She hates cats, and she is really scared of them. Though it was a funny scene but it made me want to know more about the cat that will make a full grown up lady run in such a manner. Its name was "Royal", that was what it was being called by our next neighbors who deal of soda drinks.

The drink sellers probably bought little Royal who latter grew into an adult felines [or cat] to help them catch rats as there have been complains of how rats open up their plastic drinks. I may not have much to say about Royal but it was a very playful creature. It usually visit my colleague Favour who is probably its best friend and they will play until my manager comes and chase it away. At some point, we became friends too. It was my first time of having a cat friend.

What I enjoyed most about Royal is the fact it is a very cheerful creature, I don't know if all cats are like that but Royal can be all over you if it feels comfortable around you. Another thing I enjoyed so much was watching Edidiong our cashier run at the sight of the little creature😀. Though Royal was a little creature but Edidiong run like he was being chased by armed robbers each time she sights it and somehow I enjoyed watching her run in fear. On few occasion Favour will carry it in her hand into her office, the loudness of her screaming will imidiately drag everyone's attention. It became so serious that Favour was warned seriously by the manager never to bring the cat close to the office.

Giving that I am not really passionate about pets, my encounter with Royal could be said to be my first and last encounter with a felines. It was an amazing one and I am happy to have sheared it with you guys. I am @ernesto6402. One Love✌️
