Steemdevnews #12 | betsteem, HEDE, Steemhunt update
In these Steemdevnews posts I try to shine some light on development going on and around the Steem blockchain. Here's a small pinch of what's been released or updated recently. I've managed to again find some new front-ends with new use cases. I love where all this is going. A lot of these front-ends could benefit from SMTs as well.
Betsteem
Eventhough I am not a gambling man myself, I do understand the merrit of gambling and the huge demographic that comes with it.
betsteem.com is a betting exchange powered by the Steem Blockchain where users will place bets against each other using their Voting Power.

HEDE
HEDE is a collaborative knowledge sharing dictionary where you share information about anything in the universe by first defining it.
Think of it as a Steem based Wikipedia.

Steemhunt ABV + DS voting
Steemhunt reconfigured their Account Based Voting mechanism to better reflect their needs and be a fairer system overall. As per june 23rd
To minimise all kinds of abusing attempts, Steemhunt’s ranking system is currently using the following tactics:
- Only upvotes via Steemhunt are counted for the the hunt score.
- Steem reputation score is applied to reduce the upvoting impacts from alternative/fake accounts.
- Self voting is not counted.
- Whitelisting and blacklisting.
- Diversity Score (DS) reduces the impact of group voters.
