HALLUCINATIONS

It was a long time since I posted a drawing of a sailor. Sailors have always been one of my favorite subjects. What I have portrayed in this drawing is a sailor with hallucinations.
As Homer taught us, since the time of the odyssey sailors were subject to fall into enchanting hallucinations that led them to crash on the rocks with their boats.
This is portrayed while the tentacles of an octopus are seen coming out of the pipe

Era tanto che non postavo un disegno di un marinaio. I marinai sono sempre stati uno dei miei soggetti preferiti. Quello che ho ritratto in questo disegno è un marinaio con con allucinazioni.
Come ci ha insegnato omero, fino dai tempi dell'odissea i marinai erano soggetti a cadere in allucinazioni ammaliatrici che li portavano a schiantarsi sugli scogli con le loro imbarcazioni.
