The Old Cup on My Table

‎Today, I want to share a short poem that came to my mind while I was looking at a simple cup on my table. I hope you enjoy reading it, and I would be happy to hear your thoughts.

There is an old cup on our table. It is not beautiful. It is not new. It is just a cup. Every morning someone takes it. Some days it holds tea. Some days it holds water. Some days nobody touches it. One day I looked at it. I saw a small crack. I tried to remember when it happened. Then I smiled to myself. Maybe people are like that too. We all have small cracks that others cannot see. Some of them come from hard times. Some come from mistakes. Some come from losing people we love. Even when nobody knows our story, we carry those moments with us. We still wake up. We still do our best. We still help someone. We still keep going. The cup is still there. Nobody talks about it. It never asks to be noticed. It simply stays where it belongs. Every new morning it is useful again. Looking at it made me think about life. We do not have to be perfect before we can be useful. We do not have to look new before we can make someone smile. Small cracks do not take away our value. Sometimes they remind us how far we have come. That simple cup taught me something I never expected to learn from an ordinary day.
