My introduction
Hello everyone!!
My name is okeke Immaculate Ogochukwu but I am fondly called Bambi by my friends.
I am from Imo state, Orlu to be precised. I am a 400 level veterinary student of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike.
I am the second daughter and third child in a family of 7. My dad has been late since 2014- may his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. As a girl who has grown watching her mom struggle to raise us all on her own, a fatherless girl with younger siblings looking up to her, a girl struggling with finance, studying and trying to balance life with little support, I have always felt a strong responsibility to support my mom and younger siblings. life of a student - Being a veterinary student and trying to make extra income feels like a pipe dream but I am determined to make it work.
I am very optimistic about life, I love trying out new things although sometimes i love to stay in my comfort zone.
Some of the things I enjoy doing include; Writing and public speaking - I love being heard and listened to, I am also a good listener.
i love dancing and singing - music is my therapy
Watching movies - especially during the holidays! I am a huge kdrama fan but of course I enjoy anything with a good plot, suspense or romance.
One of my biggest goals is to become a public speaker and maybe write a book someday. I want to use my life and experience as a source of motivation to others especially people who are facing same struggles like mine.
I started writing back in secondary school as a hobby. I participated in debates and talkshows but unfortunately I was always told that I wasn't suited for those things. I continued until the negative words became too loud. I lost myself and voice in the long run, I burnt my book and decided to follow the path the world has pointed out for me. The sense of direction and purpose I had was lost, I developed inferiority complex, low self esteem and stage fright. I started believing that every other person was better asides me.
my wings were clipped and my spirit caged, I watched people do things I wanted to do but I could only clap and wished I had even the tiniest courage to stand in front of people.
I got to know about hive from a friend of mine , who was referred by
. They explained how the platform operated and I was thrilled to know that I can share my experiences and stories and people will be interested to read.
Studying veterinary medicine was not my initial plan. I had wanted to study law, my dad loved lawyers and according to him he would love to see me become a lawyer but I lost him to death. i abandoned every idea and dream of being a lawyer and wondered what I would study after secondary school.
One time on December when we traveled to the village for holiday, my mom bought a cat, a white cat, it was really beautiful and we named it whisker. The cat and I became really close, I grew to love whisker but then it developed an illness and died. we couldn't take him to a vet because there were no vets in that area..
One day I was going through the Internet and found out about veterinary medicine, I went for the course and here I am. I had no idea it would be this demanding and jealous but nevertheless I have come, I have seen and I will conquer.
I believe this is the right blockchain for me, I am excited to share my life and veterinary journey with this amazing community. I am looking forward to connecting with like minded individuals and to also know your take and views on this journey. So stay with me through this journey as I gain my voice, confidence and energy back
Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for your contributions.
