What's up party people? Welcome back to emanate artworx. Today I'm sharing my recent painting of a "nice afternoon", depicting a serene view of the countryside on a sunny/cloudy day.

Inspiration
What can I say? I love the way the "middle of nowhere" looks 😍. I'm joking of course. Everywhere is somewhere, right? Compared to the hustle and bustle of city life, these kind of scenes might seem a little empty. Maybe that's part of its appeal though.
What kind of scene do you prefer to be in, city or country?

Reflection
I enjoyed making this painting, even though I was kind of disappointed that parts of it took longer than I originally anticipated. For example, at first I wasn't sure which brush I wanted to use for the white wildflowers, so I did that part multiple times with different brushes until I got the look I was going for.

This painting could actually benefit from some additional work, like adding more layers for enhancing the highlights on the clouds and other details. Still, it ain't half bad at this stage! For now I'm going to keep it as is :-}

Four hours seems like sufficient time for this one, especially considering I learned a method for rendering colors that I'm going to use on the next portrait.
