Exploring the Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest

Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a pleasant start to the new weekend! Today I decided to share something about an experience I made during my trip to Bucharest and I am happy if you like my contribution.

In Bucharest I made a trip to the Cotroceni national museum which goes hand in hand with a long history and is located in a magnificent palace which has a high architectural value. The historic Cotroceni Palace is also considered the official residence of the President of Romania and is located just outside the city centre and very easy to reach by various types of transport. The visit is a kind of slot system and guided tours take place at certain times, but I decided to wait a bit until the independent visit was possible, which lasted about an hour and allowed me to look at everything in peace without time pressure. As I have noticed, the guided tours take place in different languages and if like me, the option is chosen to choose a slot in which an independent visit is possible, you will get a flyer in which the different rooms as well as some of the most important exhibits are explained in more detail. Before you can enter the palace you first have to go through a security check and then get a visitor's passport from the administration of the president and the price of the ticket varies depending on the option chosen and starts from 60 Lei which corresponds to about 14$.

If you spend a little more money, you can also choose a full tour which is almost twice as long and offers more options for viewing and it's possible to buy the tickets spontaneously directly on site, but also online and this is probably particularly recommended during the times when most visitors are here because it saves the queueing at the checkout. It's more than a palace and one of the most important heritage of the country which is full of cultural highlights from different eras and there are also numerous traces of the royal family of Romania to see here. The architecture is diverse and extremely multifaceted and there are also rooms to admire in addition to the classical architecture which have been designed according to influences from other countries and the presentation of various works of art from different eras is also of very important meaning. The palace has been inhabited since the 17th century and towards the end of the 20th century, it was decided to make it more and more accessible to the public and to promote culture and certain parts of the building were specially rebuilt for this purpose. Particular attention was paid to establishing, in addition to all the artefacts you can see here, also the reference to the various historical personalities and as an important cultural heritage it should be put at the top of the list by everyone who has decided to visit the city.
