Christmas cactus on my window.
Christmas cactus on my window.
This flower has several names, such as: Decembrist, Schlumberger cactus.
This flower is a type of cactus, but it has no thorns. It came to us from the tropics.
It blooms in winter, which is why it has this name, it blooms at Christmas. It blooms mainly in January.
Christmas cactus comes in different colors: white, pink, yellow, red, purple, and lemon.
It likes diffused light. It is afraid of direct sunlight, as the sun can burn it.
It likes watering. But it does not like being overwatered. It likes cool temperatures and blooms at 10-15 degrees Celsius in the room. It needs to be watered regularly during flowering, but as I already wrote, it does not like stagnant water.
When small flowers appear, it cannot be moved to another place or turned, as it may drop its flowers.
It is not picky. It purifies the air. Therefore, it is useful to plant it in pots in the room. It blooms when other flowers are still dormant.
This is the beautiful flower I have.
The Decembrist is called Mozhegon.
