Light and Motion: A Dance Showcase ESP/ENG

Hello, Hivers! I hope you’re all doing well. Today, I’m sharing some photos I took of Selene during a dance performance at a festival. Several companies performed that day, and the energy was incredible.

Hola, Hivers, espero que todos estén bien. Hoy les comparto unas fotos que tomé a Selene durante una presentación de danza en un festival. Ese día participaron varias compañías, y la atmósfera estuvo cargada de energía y talento.

I decided to test my manual 200mm lens in this setting, and it turned out to be a great opportunity for experimentation. Alongside the photos, I also recorded the performance using my Canon M50 with its kit lens. Unfortunately, the video didn’t turn out well. The low light and distance highlighted the kit lens’s limitations, resulting in footage that looked like it was taken on an old phone. Until then, I hadn’t noticed these shortcomings, as I’d mainly used the lens in better-lit environments and for photography, where it performs decently.

Decidí probar mi lente manual de 200 mm, y esta fue la ocasión perfecta para experimentar. Además de las fotos, grabé la misma presentación con mi Canon M50 y su lente kit. Lamentablemente, el resultado en video no fue nada satisfactorio. La baja iluminación y la distancia resaltaron las limitaciones del lente kit, lo que dio como resultado un video con calidad similar a la de un teléfono antiguo. Hasta ese momento, no había notado estas deficiencias, ya que siempre lo usé en situaciones más favorables, con buena luz y para fotografía.

Despite my disappointment with the video, I’m pleased with several shots from this session. Selene appreciated them as well, which makes it worthwhile. Sometimes, even if everything doesn’t go as planned, capturing the essence of these fleeting moments is what truly matters.

A pesar de mi frustración con el video, estoy muy contento con algunas de las fotos de esta serie. Selene también las apreció mucho, y eso me anima. A veces, aunque los resultados no sean perfectos en todos los aspectos, el valor de capturar esos momentos únicos en movimiento sigue siendo invaluable.
