Image contest - UPDATE! The elusive GorillaBear

Its been awhile since I wrote a post, focusing on other things in my life - including a very nice visit to my Mom. As I look back on my blog I see that I have a pending update, so I wanted to "break the ice" so to speak, give out some participation prizes and celebrate what was done, which is absolutely "better than I expected". This was tricky, but thanks to some volunteer efforts from HIVE users we absolutely are closer, perhaps close enough to even get someone to manually make an image.

I want to thank all the participants, and give out some participation prizes, but let's take a look at them first:

Let's look at the images:

From chinito@chinito

I absolutely love the colors and the themeing, we can see that it is definitely a gorilla in the body, the hands do have claws and probably the feet are of a bear's as well. I like the crystal effects, the glowing hands and the rainbow spray - although the face is a little more gorilla than what I am going for. But the thing that most made me laugh - thanks for that! - is the antlers. Somehow it fits, but antlers won't make the final gut. Great attempt tho!

@Chinito wins 7 HIVE for this great effort!

From thecrazygm@thecrazygm:

This is the single best entry in the body/torso/arms/head region, but what are those crazy walrus tusks! What a fun surprise, I even really like the red eyes, as this image contains a nice template to the CR5 Gorilla Bear base, not the magical construct Serenity specifically. I think this is solid open gaming content #ogc

7 Hive to you oh thecrazygm@thecrazygm

From flquin@flquin:

Clothing seems to cover up the parts of the body that indicate that its a gorilla, but I really like the green theming, the color palette and how cool do those hands look coming out of the bear! Top points for ambiance and effort here - but this wasn't flquin@flquin's only submission!

Honorable mention from flquin@flquin:

The only image I have ever seen with a gorilla head on a bear body! This made me smile, and isn't that the point after all.

Thank you for participating and take 7 HIVE tokens for your efforts flquin@flquin!

While visiting the United States I happened to catch up with my friend and prompt master lazy8@lazy8, and he really got the basics very right with this entry - I think this is going to have to be the type of clothing Serenity wears because it absolutely seems like arms/torso being visible are very important for the "gorilla" part of the equation here. I also think the legs/feet in this image go a long way to helping the effect as well!

Finally we have a bit more armor, losing some of the gorilla, but interesting nonetheless:

lazy8@lazy8 enjoy 7 HIVEs for your efforts!

I think that's enough contest for now, I believe I can now take some of these images and approach someone with some skills at image editing to put together the best pieces of each - but I have to think about the instructions carefully (human prompt).

What do you think? Which pieces of the body are important for showing information - which look best in gorilla or bear form? What other tips do you think would be important to include in a commission to an artist? Share your thoughts down below!
