How to make Google Chrome use google.com as default search engine (step-by-step)

This tutorial video will show you step by step how to make Google Chrome use google.com as default search engine instead of a country specific version (e.g., google.co.uk, google.ca, google.com.au, etc.).

In the URL field, you will need to enter the following URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&pws=0&gl=us&gws_rd=cr

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the options button (top right).
  3. Click on 'Settings'.
  4. Click on 'Manage search engines'.
  5. Click on the 'Add' button.
  6. In the 'Search engine field', you type 'Google NCR'.
  7. In the 'Keyword' field, you type 'google ncr'.
  8. In the 'URL' field, you type (or copy and paste) the following URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&pws=0&gl=us&gws_rd=cr
  9. Click on the 'Add' button.
  10. Click on the options button (3 dots) located next to the new search engine.
  11. Click on 'Make default'.
