Styrene, Polystyrene, Styrofoam, Toxic? Oh My!

Styrene, Polystyrene and Styrofoam, many of us use these toxic plastics almost everyday.

They come in the form of cups, plates, plastic containers and more!

Did you know that anytime you use one of these items you may be putting yourself and your health at risk?

Anytime that you heat or place hot foods or drinks in one of these items the styrofoam actually starts to partially breakdown. Alcohol beverages can also break down styrofoam cups. Many chemicals, including styrene and benzene, can leach out into your food which can cause some nasty health side effects. Though, these side effects may not be seen instantaneous, they will gradually occur down the line if you continue with their use.
