DuceCrypto's Actifit Report Card: December 15, 2023

Another big Friday with 12K steps courtesy of another trip to Manhattan for my school's holiday party and a quick stop at New York City's premier holiday landmark. Although we had an early school dismissal on Friday at 2:30 pm, I stuck around for a few extra hours to prepare homework for next week and get some grades in for the week.

I got home in time to spend about an hour tidying up the apartment before bringing my partner with me to the holiday party at a fun, upscale event space in Midtown Manhattan. It was a simple commute from Brooklyn, as we were able to ride our local train line right to 6th Avenue for the event. Always a bunch of good activity when taking the subway, as all the flights of stairs really add up!

The spread of tasty snacks at the holiday party was impressive. Carrots sticks paired well with Camembert. The spicy fried shrimp and crab cakes were two more dishes that stood out. The dessert options included cheesecake, fruit tarts, and brownie bites. Even better than the good food was the good company from my school coworkers.

We were among the first to arrive on scene for the party at 8 pm, and when we left 2 and a half hours later, most of the staff had arrived. We only had the party space exclusively until 10 pm, at which time it was opened to the public to enjoy the bar and club space. It was pretty humbling asking most of my co-workers what their first names are, since for the month I've been at the school, I've only gotten to know people by their last names.

Poor horses forced to pull carriages up paved roads for NYC tourists, right on 6th Ave next to cards and busses. Wild! The sights you'll see on the way to Rockefeller Center.

Of course, we had to take a kissing picture in front of the famous Christmas Tree of Rockefeller Center. Luckily, it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be.
