Walking Through the Autumn Solstice
Today this post is dedicated to #WednesdayWalk by @Tattoodjay. It is a wonderful tag that I always look forward to! I like to stroll about, taking in nature and life. What better way to document my day than to take a walk through life? It promotes a healthier lifestyle and fosters that natural connection to living things. Today is a little different walk, so I hope you don't mind. We are going to stroll through the first day of Autumn.</center.

There will be light, but, we will have to seek it rather than it coming to us at the break of dawn. I frequently stalk the light, the thing that brings life to a photo, leaving an artistic taste in my mouth. I am in favor of color peeking out from the urban landscape, making it a softer, gentler place to inhabit.

The trees have started to let go of some leaves, but it is raining sunshine today, with a few leaves blowing around. The beauty of this moment does not escape me. I am out of words, always when I come here, yet my mind never stops. I turn in place and am taken yet again by the magnitude of this place, Arlington Cemetery. It overwhelms me, yet draws me close each and every time.

Have you ever open your eyes to the morning light and instinctively know it was going to be a great day? The weather could not have been any more perfect for this day, a true bonus to my life. This part of the country subscribes to the Spring forward, Fall back with our clocks, but, that won't be until November 7th. I will admit it, I have such a love/hate relationship with Autumn. It is with great love that I say this for today is the first day of autumn, however, soon, winter will be upon me. But, that is a story for me to worry about another day.Happy Autumn!

Come closer to me
I can nearly reach your thoughts
Dressed in shades of pure delight
I hit pause and wait, wait, wait.

Guided by the gentlest breeze
Branches so golden and roots, deep still in the earth
Shading my life from the decades that are spinning
Until
One day
My tall, sturdy knight
Standing through the weather
the seasons of life
In this world that I had created
An all-knowing sense
Of truth, as we know it

Sun and shine stand in the way
In making this
A chilly reminder
Of reality
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

I want to thank @tattoodjay for hosting the #WednesdayWalk!
And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and I'll do it again!
Have an amazing day!

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
Shakespeare
