Pedro and Mr. Ray
Pedro and Mr. Ray, Acrylic on Paper, 2015
This is actually a self portrait of my son and I. But because I ended up drawing a hat that looks like a sombrero and a toothpick that looks like a cigarillo I ended up calling it “Pedro and Mr. Ray” despite the obvious blue eyes. I have mixed feelings about this. I was proud of the faces, at least of Ray. But the bodies ended up looking like some sort of amorphous blob. And I look like a complete caricature.
But it is fun to look at. In a train wreck sort of way.
I’m posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly. With an occasional photograph or sketch thrown in just to mix things up. Check back daily to see my progression as an “artist”!
