Cloud Shadows Over the Mountains/SMASH Round 427
Hello Hivers and Shadow Hunters community!
This is my entry for this week's Shadow Hunters Community Contest / SMASH Round 427. A huge thank you to
@melinda010100 for hosting this wonderful contest through SHADOW HUNTER!
I was at Malaybalay City Hall one sunny afternoon and honestly I wasn't planning to take photos. But when I looked up and saw how the clouds were casting shadows across the mountain range behind the city, I just had to pull out my phone. The sky was doing something really nice that day a big white clouds moving slowly, and every time one passed over the mountains the shadow would roll across the ridges like a wave. It sounds simple but it looked amazing in person. I stood there for a while just watching it. Then started shooting.
What I like about this kind of light is that it changes every few minutes. The shadow moves, the bright patches shift, and you get a completely different photo just by waiting. Bukidnon's mountains are already beautiful on their own but add cloud shadows on top of that and it's a different scene entirely.
I also went up to one of the covered areas and shot through the open side. The roof framed the mountains nicely and the shadow on the floor added another layer to the whole shadow theme. Sometimes the best shadows are the ones right under your feet.
The mountains are always there in the background, and on a day with good clouds like this one, you really can't take a bad photo of the sky.
All photos taken on my mobile phone and edited in Adobe Lightroom. Boosted the blues and greens a little, brought up the clarity on the clouds. Nothing too heavy, the scene was already good on its own.
Thanks for stopping by and happy shadow hunting everyone!
