Looks like Musk received approval for human clinic tests to begin for his brain implant company.

The idea is for it to be fully implantable and designed to let the individual with the implant be able to control a mobile device or computer by extension. It isn't known what sort of human trials might begin and what that experiment is going to look like. Ultimately, the hope is that this sort of technology could provide market solutions for individuals suffering from physical impairments for example be able to regain their ability to communicate and more, with the use of neural signals. Who knows what other implications it might have down the line.

It could hold promise for restoring vision for example, enhancing mobility and more.

Previous research on public opinions have found that Americans might be more worried than they are optimistic about such an advancement in technology. Some aren't enthusiastic at all about something like this coming about and only a minority have reported that they'd be interested in using such an implant.
