My Sewing Workshop: Needles that Tell Stories and KUNO
Sewing is an art that involves many human aspects, from the talent to design and sew a garment to the love and passion we put into it even before we can bring our work to fruition. One of the things I have learned over time in the sewing process is that we must always start with what we have at hand and with the tools we have in the here and now.
That's how I started my sewing process with an old machine that had been in our family for over 50 years. The sewing machine belonged to my great-aunt, and it came into my hands thanks to her blessing, as I have always been passionate about creative processes, painting and sewing. and little by little I got to know this machine, which I value and am very fond of, as it has helped me grow in the art of sewing.
When the machine came into my hands, I not only inherited this object, but in a way I inherited a craft. My first designs were clumsy, full of hesitation. I learned to listen to it: the soft purr when the fabric was cotton, the contained effort when passing through several layers of denim, and that rebellious tapping when the needle became blunt. It is also a machine that has been very faithful, although it is true that over time the stitching has become irregular and the machine takes me a long time to sew because it is slow.
So, my goal this year is to renew my energy through material and structural change with a new sewing machine that will give me better results in terms of garment design and production time!
Do you know what Kuno is?
I recently found this website that evaluates and allows you to donate funds to good causes through Monero. It offers zero commissions, operates globally, and does not require a bank account.
I created my Kuno account to generate a promotional proposal to grow my sewing workshop, starting with the purchase of a new sewing machine and useful tools that will allow me to improve my projects and my business.
