NeedleWorkMonday: Two Devastating Typhoons And Tiny Christmas Gifts - Rose Coasters Design

After a series of typhoons in the Philippines and two strong ones, Rolly and Ulysses hit Luzon. Most areas were flooded and everyone was shocked by the unexpected downpour. Filipinos living in Luzon are devastated. It was good and the floodwaters did not reach our house but I was very nervous when I saw that the floodwaters continued to rise around us so I was evacuating my physically challenged child to the neighbors because our house was just a bungalow and I was afraid the water would reach us. Later I will share with you some pictures taken of the water rush around us.

Today, I will share with you the simple rose coaster design that my friend asked me to make for her Christmas gift to her friends. I just took photos of some coasters I have done. She ordered 5 sets of different colors

Foundation: Ch 6 and join

Round one: Ch 3, 19 tr, join

Round two: Ch 3, tr into the top on next stitch, ch2, tr into top of next 2 stitches, ch 2 9 times, join

Round three: Ch 3, 2 trs into next ch space, ch 2, 2 trs into same ch space 9 times, 2 trs into next space, chain 2, tr and join

Round Four: Chain 3 and ss into next ch 2 space, 6 trs into next space, ss into next chain 2 space 9 times, 5 truss into next space and join

MATERIALS:

Crochet hook: 4mm
Yarn used: Monaco Cotton Thread, Lavender

ss= Slip stitch
ch= Chain
tr= Treble (US Double)
