The Sumatran elephant is one of the elephant populations that live in Indonesia. Aceh province is one of the Sumatran elephant ecosystem areas whose habitat can still be found in the district forests here.
One of them is the Bener Meriah district, the population of Sumatran elephants in the forests of the central region of Aceh is arguably the one that is quite often encountered. Even so, not a few are also found in several other districts.
