Cutter's Rest

In a time gone by an ancient charge issued in a then-new world has become reduced to a simple understanding, hold the road.

For in those times, when first the road was made, it is said, such a challenge was undertaken to tame pressing wood, that indeed arduous agreement needed to be meted, most physically, into the very heart-of-wood.

Thereafter though a steady hand was yet required, the wood became easier to hold back, and so the rolling tamed lands beyond were born.

For those faithful folk of the Rest,
a diverse people born and raised from road to rowan,
but yet ones for whom cutting is a central tenet, and oft trained oft in yores, ironically, a rest is said to be in short supply, as ever the press of the wood is present.

Short as a cutters rest as the saying goes.
