What is retinal migraine?
Retinal migraine is a visual disorder that results in a loss of partial or complete vision, generally lasting less than an hour, following pain perception phase of the headache. The causes are due to a retinal vasospasm or an ocular form of a hemicranial attack.
Despite the similarities with the visual symptoms associated with headaches with aurea (transient and completely reversible, often in both eyes), with which it can be confused, retinal migraine can lead to serious consequences, such as permanent monocular blindness.
