FreeCAD Weekly Streaming

The fundamental piece of designing for 3D printing, CNC milling, routing or whatever process we are using is CAD (Computer Aided Design) and the rest of the software tool chain required to get our product made. This tool chain includes FreeCAD, Blender, Inkscape, various slicer software and more.

I know I have been slow to advance my skills and from what I can tell by talking with others is that this is a common problem with getting started. It seems that there are a bunch of us feeling like we really need to get better at these things so that we can progress in making useful things.

Would there be any interest in getting some people together to do a regular streaming educational project?

Not only would this help with initial learning of the software and tool chain, but I think it would also be a great way to keep ourselves accountable and committed to progressing our skills.

I'm thinking we could have a very introductory video or series to explain the most basic parts of the software and then the streams could be more focused on specific projects and/ or more advanced features and concepts. This way, people could come prepared to learn and the streams could be used for new material instead of re-hashing old stuff.

Maybe, if the project would continue, we could edit useful material to create more permanent and progressive material.

It seems like a potential good idea to me, but can we find some folks that are interested in participating?

What is the best platform?

Options are Discord, YouTube, LBRY, Hive? (is there steaming available?), and possibly our NextCloud.

Are there others that you can think of that you suggest?

I'm thinking that the most practical platform is probably Discord, but I haven't tried it.
