I was trying to explain the reaction-diffusion process using Gray-Scott models. They mathematically look like below:

Understanding the Laplacian operator
I had promised in the last RD(short for reaction-diffusion from now onwards) article that I will explain more about Laplacian operator.
If you see the Gray-Scott equations, you will see that both equations have 2 components. One is the diffusion component with Laplacian and the reaction component. The Laplacian operator gives the difference between the value of a function at a point and the average value at "neighboring" points. [REF 1]
Also, please see this Khan-Academy video which explain the concept very well.
I am stopping here today. Later I will explain about diffusion equation so that it will help build the concept of Laplacian operator too. And on top of that, we can add the reaction process in the equation and try to intuitively think about RD processes.
