I have always assumed that chrome extensions have gone through a thorough vetting process by google and are quite safe to install without we checking for their authenticity and safety. This news proves how wrong I have been.

I have come across people who use as many as 3 or 4 anti virus/malware programs at the same time on the ground that no one program can detect all viruses and malwares. If you do all your banking online and is heavy into crypto investing looks like you have no choice but to be super careful with your online activities.
