Two ingredient solar system! Best part...NO MESS!
Elias is eager to learn more about the solar system, so today we upcycled used gift tissue paper (mixed with water) to make the planets and sun!
For the planets:
Adding strip or blotch designs:
Strip: Tear or cut long thin strips (about 3-5mm wide) and wrap around moistened planet
Blotch: tear small irregular bits of tissue and apply on moistened planet
For the rings:
Cut a long strip of tissue (the length of a whole sheet and about 3cm wide)
Moisten the strip and twist. For multi coloured rings: cut two strips, place back to back, moisten and twist
Note: a little craft glue may be needed to keep the ring loops together
Depending on the size, it may take a few days for the planets to dry. Let the sit in the sunshine. Make sure they are spaced apart.
Happy crafting!
Also, Encourage your little ones to spell out (verbally and manually) the names of the planets before, after and/or during the project π
