Can Scam Like Magic Dice Be Prevented?
As you may know Magic Dice organizers seem to have disappeared completely, with approximately 190,000 USD of capital from the users. (Source: @themarkymark) I suppose the use of Smart Contracts – depositing the cryptocurrency in the blockchain until certain requisites are complied – would have the advantage to avoid such cases. Because:
“A smart contract is a computer protocol intended to digitally facilitate, verify, or enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract. Smart contracts allow the performance of credible transactions without third parties.” (Source)
That means, organizers could renounce to store values, until a rolling round is over, and only cash-in the lost amounts. Or am I wrong? Can frauds like Magic Dice be prevented?
(Photo: Own work, public domain)
- Yes, with smart contracts this type of scam could be prevented.
- No, organizers can always find the way to cheat.
- THAT were the smart contracts!
- It depends on the smart contract, who is transmitting the data to it?
- I don’t know but more reliable systems must be made.
- The whole world is a gambling place and small people will always be robbed somehow.
- All online gambling should be forbidden.
- I understand now why gambling is mostly strictly controlled by states.
- I go and put “all in” in the casino what was left.
