Hello friends.

You know, there's something in our blood that's pretty amazing. It's called DNA, and it's responsible for all of our physical characteristics. It's also responsible for some pretty impressive feats, like reproducing cells and repairing damage. It's also responsible for some pretty funny things, like the way our noses wrinkle when we smell something bad.

Why we are talking about DNA, you may wonder. Well, today is National DNA Day, which commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003 and the discovery of the double helix of DNA in 1953. This day is a reminder of how far we've come in understanding our DNA and the genetic code that makes us who we are.

Did you know that your DNA is like a fingerprint that is unique to you? DNA is a molecule that contains the genetic instructions used in the development and function of all living organisms. DNA is made up of two long chains of nucleotides that are coiled around each other.

There's no denying that DNA is responsible for some pretty amazing things. Not only does it dictate our physical features, but it also determines things like our eye color and hair color. And let's not forget that it's responsible for our unique fingerprints. So it's no surprise that DNA is also responsible for the many unique forms our bodies take. Whether we're tall or short, skinny or curvy, DNA is what makes us who we are.

And this brings us to today's challenge.

Today's challenge

DNA is short for 'deoxyribonucleic acid' and is composed of 4 parts, Adenine (A), Cytosine (C), Guanine (G), or Thymine (T) or 'GATC'. The layout and amount of each make you who you are.

It's a little challenging, but on a post on D.Buzz, tell us what 4 elements make you up. Yes, we guess you can just post 'GATC' makes me up... but we are looking for a bit more fun.
