Project Spotlight by D.Buzz: Splinterlands

We are going to change the focus of our Friday posts. We will look at the top Dapps as listed on https://hivedapps.com (*An excellent listing service by Hive account@therealwolf ), and spend time and talk about each Dapp in the Top 20.

This week, we will be looking at "Splinterlands".

Hive account@splinterlands started its existence known as Hive account@steemonsters. If memory serves me right (*Sometimes it does not), it was a proof of concept project that took off. The initial founders of Hive account@splinterlands are Hive account@aggroed and Hive account@yabapmatt. These two users are prolific in the Steem and HIVE ecosystems and have added exceptional value to the blockchain.

Since its inception, Splinterlands has had a steady rise in its user base and has topped the Dapp charts for a while. This game has proven that the Steem and HIVE networks' can scale and has the strength to handle many on-chain process requests while not slowing down the system. And, in my opinion, it is an enjoyable game to play 😀

Hive account@splinterlands is a multiplayer card game with RPG elements in it. There are many facets to this game. The mile-high overview is: Users collect and battle cards, run daily challenges, compete to rise in rank, and earn DEC tokens (Dark Energy Crystals: https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=DEC ) that they can use to buy additional cards or sell for HIVE tokens.

Users can additionally lease their cards out, join guilds, and compete in tournaments for prizes.

Hive account@splinterlands is currently the number one Dapp on https://hivedapps.com and https://stateofthedapps.com, making it the #1 Dapps in the world.
